Master of Economic Policy and Management

The Master of Arts in Economic Policy Management (EPM) at the University of Zambia was established to address a critical capacity gap in economic policy formulation and implementation across the Southern African region.

The EPM programme is designed as a regional initiative to build capacity in economic policy among workers in the public service in Southern Africa . The explicit focus on public servants reflects a strategic recognition that sound economic management requires not just theoretical knowledge, but practitioners equipped to navigate the complex realities of policy design and execution in developing economies.

The explicit aim of the Master of Arts in Economic Policy Management (EPM) programme is to build capacity in economic policy among workers in the public service in the Southern African region.

• To build economic policy capacity among public service workers in the Southern African region.
• To enhance skills and numbers of economic policy managers to improve efficiency in economic policy management within the public sector.
• To equip graduates to contribute to economic policy formulation, implementation, and management in their home countries.
• To provide hands-on specialised exposure and strengthen academic, professional, and management knowledge-bases for policy practitioners.
